Frequently Asked Questions

Absolutely, most of my students have never played piano before their first lesson! We will have you playing in no time, don't worry.

I teach my singing lessons from a dedicated teaching space located within Studio 54, High Street, Exeter, EX4 3DJ. It is a great place where I have created a relaxing atmosphere for students to progress faster. Yes, I will be more than happy to teach your child to learn to play the piano, it is great for developing young peoples musicallity and getting them excited by music! I tutor children from the age of 6 upwards, with lessons for young people working best as half hour lessons each week. You are more than welcome to join us during the piano lesson if you wish to sit in.

Absolutely. Music is for everyone to enjoy, you certainly don't have to take exams if you don't want to. Examinations are often a motivational factor to keep achieving higher levels but it is totally fantastic if you wish to play piano for leisure.

It is completely up to you. Whatever style of piano music you like, classical or modern, as well as anything in between, we will cover it. My piano lessons are all about empowering my students to play the music they love, whether that is Coldplay or Chopin.

Not at all, I have all the equipment here that you are more than welcome to use.

If you are a beginner, a keyboard will be fine. All students who are Grade 1 level and up should be practising on a piano to develop finger technique and you would be surprised at the many places you can go to practise on a piano in Exeter. Musicrooms shop, the University of Exeter and local churches all have piano you can use for a small fee if you don't have a piano at home.

Yes, I would be happy to teach pairs of students if you are interested. More than two students within one lesson is often a challenge, individual lessons work best.

Please note that Piano Lessons Exeter operates a strict 24-hour cancellation policy. This means that if a lesson is cancelled within 24 hours of the arranged time the student will be charged the full price of the lesson. Should you need to cancel a lesson please contact me at your earliest opportunity to re-arrange.
